Last Wednesday we had a relatively big house band with Chris Caulfield on Trumpet and Joel Ison on Keys, thus making it a 6 pice house band!
Because we had Sax (Oli Arlotto) and trumpet we put some fun Breaker brothers and Freddie Hubbard tunes on the first set to warm up before tha jam.
So after a great house band set we opened up the jam as usual. some great new musicians appeared including a guitar and bassist from LA who have just finished a 2 year tour with Cirque Du Soleil. On top of that we were pleased to see our french electric violist come back and burn up some awesome solos !!
The Hoxton Jam was Proud to have Ric Elsworth back on drums and Mike Rowlands on Sax along with our Regular players Alex, Samer & Joel (Guitar, Bass & Keys)
Ric had some really original sounds coming from the drums, which he most likly obtained by combining his experience and equipment as a percussion player with his skills on traditional kit…. Im sure the other drummers in the house were taking notes !
We also had enough horn players visiting the Hoxton Jam last Wednesday to make a small big band.
One of those Horn players was a trumpet player called Nick Etwell, The Hoxton Jam was really happy to have Nick come down as he is a great musician and worth checking out ( if you have 5 mins have a look at his band http://www.myspace.com/thefilthysix)
Ron Hector was kind enough to take some photos to show you what u missed out on !
